How To Fix The 0x80070570 Error

When you delete a file or folder from your computer or copy files in a USB drive, you may receive the error message: “Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable”.

Solutions For Corrupted And Unreadable File or Directory

Method 1: Scan for viruses

If you have failed to delete files from your computer and you encounter the error, it is possible that the system settings have been changed by virus or malware to hack, delete, modify, damage files and system parameters, data, etc.

When the system becomes unable to access data properly, you should be aware of spending a few minutes scanning and removing viruses.

Method 2: Check the drivers and install the driver updates

Solution For A New Installation Of Windows:

Method 1: Retry the installation (error 0x80070570)

If you encounter the error “0x80070570” during the installation of windows, press OK and return to the previous window, resume the installation and repeat it without starting the operation of the installation again. Try this like 3-4 times it may have worked for some of you. If the error repeats, you can stop and try this method.

Method 2: Pull your RAM

If you only have one memory module, go to METHOD 3 – but if you have more than one, try drawing one at a time. EG: If you have four DDR2, Pull 1, then test, then pull the other and test, then pull the other and test until it works, if it doesn’t work, put them all back and go to METHOD 3 .

However, you must have a 2GB array at all times. If you have 1 GB sticks, try putting two sticks.

Method 3: Create an account via the command prompt

When the error appears, follow the steps below:

  • Press the SHIFT key and press F10 (SHIFT + F10) to open the command prompt.
  • Type CD C: \ windows \ system32 \ oobe and press Enter (If you are already in C: \ windows \ system32 or if there is an error type CD oobe only).
  • Type msoobe and press Enter.
  • After a Windows account creation wizard should be opened. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a general user account, then restart the system. This should resolve the error.

Method 4: Using MMC – Microsoft Management Console

  • Press SHIFT and press F10 (SHIFT + F10) to open the command prompt.
  • Type MMC
  • Click File and then select Add / Remove Snap-ins
  • Select on Computer Management >> Add >>Local Computer.
  • Once done, click on Finish and then select OK.
  • Click on Computer Management.
  • Select system tools.
  • Click local users and groups.
  • Select users.
  • Double click on Administrator.
  • Clear the Account is a disabled checkbox and select Ok.
  • Right-click on Administrator and select Set Password.
  • Choose a password you want.
  • Now restart your computer this should resolve the problem.

Method 5: Activating the default administrator account

If the previous methods did not solve your problem or if you cannot access the Management of local user groups in method 2.

“Local users and groups” is not available on some versions of Windows, especially the Home version of Windows 7.

The steps below are therefore another way to activate the default administrator account.

  • Press SHIFT and press F10 (SHIFT + F10) to open the command prompt.
  • Type net user administrator / active: yes and press Enter.
  • Type net user administrator password / active: yes and press Enter (Note: replace the ”  password  ” with the password you want to set for the default administrator account).
  • Restart your computer.
